Abstract:
This contribution presents an approach for performing localization in den Fences-architecture for mapping static environments. A metric is developed that quantifies the similarity between different representations of the environment, that incorporates special needs of the architecture. This metric is used to derive a feature-based localization algorithm, which uses iterative closest point algorithm.
